Hope Wins – again

Hope Wins

The last man was winched from a mine in Chile in the early hours of the morning.  Earier, 33 miners who had been trapped for 69 days had been pulled to safety, but the last man out, Manuel Gonzalez, was one of the rescue team who volunteered to go down the hole first to make sure the others escaped.

This amazing story has captured the imagination of the world because it was all about HOPE.

And hope wins.

  1. What is fantastic too is that this Sunday the Lectionary reading is Luke 18:1-8, a passage Willie Barclay describes as ‘Unwearied in Prayer’ – this Sunday we will have a service of thanksgiving for these miners and for all those unwearied in prayer. A Good News story.
