Tut, tut Mr Cutler.
You should be ashamed of yourself. Imagine going and wasting time listening to a heretic. God will not be pleased!
LOL!!! Bet you listened/watched though!
As you know, I like to know who or what I’m disagreeing with rather than take someone else’s word for it. He didn’t say anything in his talk at Vertigo or at ICC that I didn’t agree with. That’s not to say he hasn’t said anything I don’t agree with but then I’m sure I don’t always say things that people agree with. Does that make me a heretic? I do hope so!!!
Dear Stewart,
Thanks for this. I heard Brian at Stirling on the Fri/Sat before he spoke in Glasgow. I’ve blogged my thoughts on what Brian was saying on my blog – http://www.gkcorner.blogspot.com I’ve a label for Brian McLaren. No doubt you’ve heard from others about the meetings in Stirling.
BTW I don’t agree with everything Brian writes or says, but do think it important to read and listen to someone as influential as Brian and at least make one’s own mind up.
Couldn’t agree more Gordon. There are lots of people I read who I completely disagree with but I like to know why and reading or listening to different points of view helps me to clarify what I do think. I also think that the process of listening to and engaging others in discussion is one of the ways we test the work of the Spirit and also hold each other accountable. That’s one of the reasons I blog and I’d hate to think that people wouldn’t disagree with me here, or anywhere else. I live in hope of the Sunday morning sermon where someone pipes up and challenges what I’m saying! Maybe this week!
