I think that’s why I like process.
Rob Bell’s new book Love Wins: At the Heart of Life's Big Questionsis out soon in the UK and the interwebs have been alive with comment, question and criticism.
Yesterday Rob did a question and answer session where he admitted that for him the questions are really important. Perhaps more important than answers, especially as we won’t know the answers about heaven and hell until we’re dead!!
I wonder what spaces we give to big questions like this in our communities?
Questions inspire me. I love hearing people talk about ideas and questions.

It struck me that at a congregational level I can’t remember ever having the opportunity to discuss these Big Questions. I suspect we all have our questions and doubts but people need to be given the freedom to ask and raise them.
A conference would be good – but i wonder if it would end up just being a one off event. Would be interesting if a resource could be created and used at a local level (in a similar way to sexuality debate within C.of.S).

(A small quibble – we need great facilitators as well as great speakers, so that people can engage in meaningful discussion with each other as well as listening to great speakers who can frame the debate).
