never doubt what men are capable of

Today is the 63rd anniversary of the atomic bombing of Horoshima.  A few years ago I was lucky enough to visit the UN Headquarters in New York where they had an exhibition of items from Hiroshima which had been exposed to the blast.

There was a granite statue, completely smooth on the side which faced the blast and still as it was on the other side.  A pile of coins from a bank which had been completely melted together.

I’ll never forget what I saw that day, and can’t imagine what it must have been like to live through that, and with the aftermath.

And don’t think that it couldn’t happen again.  They dropped another one just three days later on Nagasaki
