If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how fast or how far. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or if you’ve been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run. – John Bingham
Bingham was a passionate advocate of getting people out running. He was fed up with the snobbery that said you were only a runner if you could run fast. He wanted people to run. And he wanted them to know that they were runners.
I wonder if we feel the same about being Christian?
A big tick from me !!
It helps if you can run with someone though ?
Sometimes it’s great to be with other runners David, but sometimes running alone is good too. I like when I’m out for a run and other runners smile, nod or wave hello. It’s good to feel part of something.
I can understand that. When I play golf in a big competition I know that I have partners but am also in something much bigger. I also enjoy the occasional game on my own. On holiday, for example, there are times when there is just me lugging my bag around. Did this at Tobermory and the only sound was the putt putt of a fishing boat engine in the sound and the only other noise was my rasping breathing !! It was great.
