David’s Facebook Update:
Before bed I thought I’d give a quick update of my marathon.
Miles 1-10 as planned with a nice even pace as usual, miles 11-26.2 ran with basically a wooden left leg – ideal!
Finished in 4:47, at least an hour over my goal time.
Disappointed about that but really enjoyed the whole experience. I’ll elaborate in an in-depth report on my blog. Thanks to all of for messages of support over the last couple of days.
We’re all incredibly proud of the effort David put in, both to get to the Marathon and even more to get round.
Well done David and thanks again to everyone who helped him raise £2,300 for Kidney Research UK.
The ballot for entry for next year opens on the 4th of May… Bookies have stopped taking bets on whether he’ll enter… he has a PB to beat! 😉
disapointed!! No way – an amazing achievment. typing this from Shanghai – just wondering how David got on,
he got on ok. Sore knee really slowed him down but he finished and really enjoyed the experience. Shanghai!!! Jealous! Lots!!!
