It’s also Armistice Sunday on the 11th, when we pause and remember the men and women who laid down their lives in wars gone by so we could be free. But free from what? Oppression, tyranny, denials of freedoms and rights.
A good time to pause I think, and to remember.
I was always under the impression we were celebrating that he was captured and therefore didn’t manage to go through with his plan? Do we not light bonfires because that’s what happened on 5th Nov that year to celebrate the safety of the King?
