As life goes on I’ve become more and more aware of the importance of having some breathing space, take some time out and give yourself some head space. If you read my blog you’ll know that for me that’s one of the attractions of running.
How will you take your breathing space?
Why not use this day to give yourself some breathing space and take ‘time-out’ from the stresses of life and look after your mental wellbeing. If we wait for time then it often never comes so we have to make time.
Time out can take the form of a walk, catching up with friends, or simply making time for relaxing such as reading a book. Why not plan to do something in your place of work? Why not vow to give yourself some breathing space every day over the course of February.
Win a prize! Capture your ‘time out’ on camera and submit a photograph to: LRN [at] lanarkshirelinks [dot] org [dot] uk by the end of February you could win a prize!
Breathing Space Day is an annual event and a number of activities will be held across Lanarkshire to celebrate it. Visit www.elament.org.uk and sign up to Elament on twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with planned activity.
A host of materials are available to help promote the day and Breathing Space helpline.
